Rhetoric and translation: poems of Bécquer in georgian

Main Article Content

Vladimer Luarsabishvili

Abstract

We investigate the metaphor of solitary tear/weeping in poems of Bécquer. On one side, we study the role which carries out the selected metaphor and, on the other, the suitable translation technics (domestication or foreignization) to preserve author’s style and semantic message in the translated text. The results of our investigation will facilitate the reception of Bécquer’s poetry in different languages and will help to choose the translations strategies of Rimas.
