Abstract

Due to the linguisticand cultural barrier, Chinese rhetoric remains the great unknown in the international panorama of rhetorical studies, especially in the Spanish-speaking world. The present work has the objective of:1) makinga brief reviewof the historical evolution ofrhetoric in China and a reflection on its traditional lack of disciplinary independence; and 2) exploringsome aspects of Chinese rhetoric where cultural incidence is most clearly observed.
