Abstract

This document is an analysis of one of Rogelio Lupo’s book, Contra la ocupación extranjera, starting from Angenot’s Social Discourse theory. With our investigation we seek for two aims: on the one hand, we investigate the above-mentioned Lupo’s text to find the possibility of a dissident discourse emergency; on the other hand, we make use of the same text to think about the theoretical categories of “the hegemonic” and “the heteronomous”. In this sense, we reach the same conclusion. As regards García Lupo’s book, we remark that although the text is set out as a counterdiscourse, it is still co-opted for the same hegemonic regulatory mechanisms. As for the hegemony-heteronomy reflexions, we firmly believe that the study of the discursive genres may be a contribution to be closer to the hegemonic discourse, whereas the rhetoric figures analysis will bring us nearer to “the heteronomic”.
